Heavy campaigning was the agenda Monday for senatorial candidates, former governor Ronnie Musgrove and Sen. Roger Wicker.

Both made stops at Meridian Aviation at Key Field, as they toured the state the day before the election.

This is the final road to victory for one of these candidates. Both want to serve out the last four years of Trent Lott's term.

"People know Washington is broken. We need to change that, and that's what I will do in the U.S. Senate," said Musgrove, the Democratic nominee. "I won't go and represent some special interest, the party insiders. I'll represent 2.9 million Mississippians and fight for them every day."

"Everything that we've done has been pointing toward this very important day," said Wicker, the Republican nominee. "But this is the most important tomorrow, because that's the day when people have to actually follow through and go into the ballot box and make the check mark for Roger Wicker."

The candidates say they expect a good turnout at the polls Tuesday.
