Alcorn State Death

The Alcorn State University family is mourning the loss of one of their own.

University President Clinton Bristow, Jr. was found dead on the Lorman Campus. A student found Bristow on the track around 9 last night. The president of the Meridian / Lauderdale County Alcorn State Alumni Association says that this is a sad day for everyone associated with the university.

"This is a tremendous loss to the Alcorn State University family. As you know, Alcorn State University is a very close knit family of students and faculty. We are very saddened by this loss. It is devastating to us," said Wilbert Jones, President of the Meridian/Lauderdale County Alumni Assoc.

Clinton Bristow, Jr. had been the president of Alcorn State for the last ten years. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of his death. Bristow was 57 years old.
