That previous comment is why there needs to be conservative talk radio. It amazes me how liberalism seems to be the the "it" viewpoint right now when in fact it actually hinders freedom. The fairness doctrine is censorship plain and simple. It is completely obsolete. You don't hear conservatives crying to shut down the mainstream media or liberal radio. Conservatism is not about greed. Its actually about freedom. Govt should NOT be running our lives (women and gays included). Govt was formed to protect us and our rights. Military, police, fire, etc. It wasn't until Woodrow Wilson's administration that became so infatuated with Mussolini's admin. that the social programs were introduced. FDR just magnified it. Now we are paying the price. Instead of letting the private sector flourish, govt is taking more and more control. That spells disaster. Just take a look at social securty, medicare and now Freddie and Fannie. All disasters. Trickle down works WAY better than trickle up economics.
When private corporations monopolize a limited medium and use it for propaganda, freedom of speech demands equal time for opposing views. The right to turn the knob is meaningless when the only choice is off. The argument is always made that liberal talk radio does not succeed when tried. Yes, liberal talk shows without strong messages appealing to our greed, selfishness or fears, or preaching a strong anti-government message or hatred of taxes, gays, women and minorities have not succeeded.
