A Newton County woman died as a result of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night on Highway 39 at John Stennis Drive, now named Highway 854.
Cindy Olver, 38, of Little Rock, died around midnight at Rush Hospital. She was a passenger in a car driven by Timothy Strebeck, 17, also of Little Rock, who was treated and released.
Another passenger, Kayla Oliver, 15, of Little Rock, was airlifted to University Medical Center in Jackson.
The other driver, Katie Anthony, 59, of Meridian was hospitalized.
Mississippi state troopers say it appears Strebeck failed to yield right of way and was struck on the passenger side by Anthony, traveling northbound on Hwy 39.
