Authorities have found two bodies at a site near Carthage in Leake County where they believe a plane crashed Thursday afternoon. It disappeared from radar during a storm.
The private Piper Saratoga disappeared while traveling over central Mississippi during a thunderstorm. Parts of the wing and propeller were found earlier Friday. The fuselage was found later with the bodies inside.
Family members identified the pilot and passenger as Dominick Riso of Metairie, La., and Holly Sasich of New Orleans. Riso was identified as the president of Acme Paper Box Company Inc. in Jefferson Parish, La.
The Civil Air Patrol said it called off its search Friday after the crash site was discovered in a thickly wooded, swampy area about 45 miles northeast of Jackson.
