The tragedy at Lockheed extends far beyond the Meridian area or even the state of Mississippi.
Television crews, including national networks, have swarmed the city since the incident happened July 8.
"It's one of the biggest workplace shootings to happen in the last two years and for it to happen in such a small community, it's unbelievable," said Katia Uriarte of Jackson.
"Markets from all over America focus on a story like this because it's the kind of thing that could happen in anyone's town," said Scott Simmons. "But when it happens in a small community like this, it really causes you to take notice."
Some television crews remained in the area Wednesday night as part of their continuing coverage.
