According to Attorney General Jim Hood, a Lauderdale County man has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography on his computer.
Walter David Woodard, 53, of Marion, Miss., was sentenced in Lauderdale County Circuit Court to 15 years in prison, with 13 years suspended and two to be served day for day in the state penitentiary.
"Our office was notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Woodard was in possession of child pornography," said Hood. "We worked closely with the NCMEC to confirm that Woodard had hundreds of images on his computer which were confirmed by NCMEC as known child pornography."
Woodard will be placed on five years of post release supervision after serving two years behind bars. Woodard was also ordered to pay court costs, a fine to victims' compensation, a $10,000 fine to the Children's Relief Fund and a fine of $50,000, with $40,000 suspended.

I'm tired of these people getting off with a slap on the hand. Maybe if they received full sentences they would think twice before becoming involved with this disgusting habit.I don't know about the rest of you but I think the justice system needs to be changed. He will be out and doing the same thing if not worse in just a few years.
When the pictures are of CHILDREN, yes, it IS a very big deal.
