Reserve law enforcement officers graduated Tuesday night from a program at Meridian Community College.
Volunteers who enrolled in the course received certificates of completion and may now assist full-time law officers.
"We are celebrating the graduation ceremony for the reserve law enforcement program here at Meridian Community College. It's a program that we partner with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department to provide additional forces on the streets in east Mississippi," said program director, Dan Talley.
The new recruits completed 236 hours of training in a period of five months. The officers will be used on a part-time basis.
