A wreck on Highway 45 at the Noxubee-Kemper county line has put a New Hampshire traveler in the hospital in Meridian in critical condition.

Bob Skelding left his home last summer to take a cross-country trip on a homemade wagon, pulled by his horses, Dee Dee, Joyce, Dolly and Doc.

But the team was struck by an 18-wheeler tanker late Tuesday morning.

Skelding was badly hurt and was brought to Rush Hospital.

Two horses died at the scene and two others are in the care of Dr. Billy Calvert in Kemper County.

Scott Boyd of The Macon Beacon said Skelding had camped two nights in Noxubee County before resuming his journey Tuesday.

This makes me sick, We have horses and dogs to and have lost both also, my heart goes out to Bob.

Bob spent some time here in Delaware Co. Ohio. I did'nt meet him but have heard very good stories. Now, if I may get word the the steering wheel holder who hit him. That people call you a driver is disgusting, that lable makes us all guilty of your ignorance. Do us all a favor and drop your CDL in a paper shredder, grab a pitchfork and do the work you are qualified for. As for any "DRIVER" who reads this, please take 'er easy, A late load beats a crash any day.
