The Lauderdale County Extension Service Thursday hosted
an "Exploring 4-H" program for ages eight through thirteen.
"We have a variety of different 4-H projects from photography to plants to creative crafts and arts, to lots of different things," said Youth Agent Beth Randall of the Lauderdale County Extension Service. "They even got to make fruit pizza."
During the summer these hands-on activities are a vital part of education because 4-H stresses "learning by doing."
"This way young people get to be entertained, educated, all at the same time," Randall said. "I think they've had a great day today while learning a lot of different things."
4-H is open to all young people, from elementary grades through high school.
