The board of directors of the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation Thursday discussed an initiative for economic development between the governors of Mississippi and Alabama.
"The work that's currently being done by the state of Mississippi and the state of Alabama will allow us to position ourselves and to be able to offer a site, to offer incentives, and to identify the benefits of two regions, two states working together," said Wade Jones, president of the EMBDC. "That will generate the prospects and ultimately the location of a major industry."
Once language in the two-state partnership agreement is finished, it
will be presented to both state legislatures for a vote.
