MDOT Employees Win Awards

Several residents from the east Mississippi area were recognized for contributions to engineering at a recent conference on the Coast.

The American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians honored several Mississippi Department of Transportation employees for their contributions to the field of engineering during the 2009 Engineering Technicians Conference held recently in Biloxi.

ASCET members received Member of the Month, Technician of the Month, and ASCET President's Special Awards during the conference, hosted by MDOT February 9-12 in Biloxi.

Among the MDOT members receiving the President's Special Award were:
Steve Lyle of Lena, Ken Wallace of Collinsville, Kevin Rainey of Collinsville, Kent Reeves of Decatur, and Keith Parker of Carthage.

Other ASCET awards presented during the ETC conference went to Dorothy McClure of MDOT's Planning Division, who won the ASCET Member of the Month Award, and Keith Parker of MDOT's IS Division, who took home the ASCET Technician of the Month Award.

These two award recipients will automatically be nominated for the association's Member and Technician of the Year Awards, which will be presented during the ASCET Annual Conference, scheduled June 11-13 in Kansas City, Missouri.
