The Mississippi delegation was split Friday on a Republican-backed prescription drug bill that passed the House of Representatives.
Cong. Chip Pickering voted for the bill that would provide drugs for low-income seniors for $5.00 or less.
Supporters say that would cover 55 percent of the nation's seniors.
Pickering said the bill is a good one, but his Democrat opponent in this year's congressional race, Cong. Ronnie Shows, voted against the bill.
Shows called the bill "deceitful", and says a prescription drug bill should cover everyone. He had sponsored a different version of a prescription drug bill.
