In a case before the state Supreme Court, convicted murderer Jarvis Shelton argued in an appeal that prosecutors had no physical evidence to link him to the death of storekeeper Lisa Crow.
The Mississippi Supreme Court Thursday upheld Shelton's capital murder conviction and life without parole sentence.
Shelton was identified by the woman's daughters as the man they saw walk out of the store carrying their mother's purse.
Shelton was later tried and convicted for a rape in Lauderdale County.
