Candidates continue campaigning in East Central Mississippi, with only four days left till statewide elections.
Scott Newton, republican nominee for State Attorney General, made a stop in Meridian Friday.
Newton said what makes him right for the job is his experience as an FBI agent and federal prosecutor, including the conviction of Fidel Ayala.
"He was sending methamphetamine from California all over the country and sending it to the Forest and Meridian area," said Newton. "But also, I recovered over $20 million in fraud proceeds for the taxpayers, and was twice nationally recognized with the Integrity Award, which is for prosecutive excellence."
In voting next Tuesday, Newton faces democratic nominee Jim Hood.
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 4.
