A big season finale is planned for the Meridian Symphony Orchestra.
Singer Carrie Tillis is returning to Meridian for this special event. She performed with her father, Mel Tillis, and other family members in a Christmas show in 2008.
MSO conductor, Dr. Clair Fox Hillard, said she was a big hit then and he expects another great performance.
"She has an operatic background, as well as a Broadway background, as well as her country background with her family," said Hillard. "So she's going to be appearing with the orchestra doing a little sampling of all of that. Showcase the talents of Carrie Tillis with the Meridian Symphony."
The performance is set for May 16 at 8 p.m. at the MSU Riley Center. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 13 at the MSU Riley Center, 2200 5th Street Meridian, 601-696-2200 Tickets are $39 for “A” seats and $35 for “B” seats.
Tickets previously purchased to MSO’s Classical Cinco de Mayo concert will be honored the night of the show.
