Hundreds of local youngsters were eager to hunt Easter eggs Saturday.
About 500 kids turned out to Highland Park and MSU Meridian to gather colorful Easter eggs. City officials say three thousand eggs were hidden at the park.
They say it's always a fun day every year for the kids as well as the parents. Prizes included stuffed animals, Easter baskets, toys, candy, and much more.
"For the gold eggs, in each age group, we gave scooters. And for the silver in each age group we have big Easter baskets," said Meridian Parks & Recreation coordinator Mary Quince.
And the Easter bunny was on hand to meet and greet the children.
