Sheriff's investigators reportedly have several suspects in the fatal beatings of the mother and daughter of a soldier serving in Iraq. But Marengo County Sheriff Jesse Langley declined to offer additional details.
The victims, Ida Little, 52, and her three-year-old granddaughter, Mikayla Little, were slain in their rural mobile home Aug. 14. Langley said both victims died from blows to the head.
Little's daughter, Wanda Little, a member of the Army National Guard returned home Sunday after learning of the deaths. She was deployed to Iraq in February.
Wanda Little's two other children, a nine-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl, also were living with Ida Little and were in the house at the time of the attack. Langley said they were not harmed.
