Police in west Alabama have released surveillance video from a series of robberies and burglaries in recent weeks.
The most recent armed robbery happened at Dandy Don's convenience store in downtown Livingston April 18. But Police Chief Ashley Welborn said over the past six months, Dandy Don's has been robbed several times.
"It usually happens between 9 and 9:30 at night. The individual comes in, waves a gun at the clerk. She gives him the money and he leaves," Welborn said.
In the last robbery, Welborn said the suspect fled on foot, wearing dark clothing and socks, but no shoes.
Welborn said the gunman wore a mask, but is thought to be a black male with a medium build.
So far, the chief said no one has been hurt in any of the robberies.
"Dandy Don's, we're afraid that somebody is going to get hurt. He's walking in and waving a gun," said Welborn. "He just doesn't care who's in there and we're worried that he might accidentally shoot somebody and we're concerned for the community's safety."
Currently a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the robberies.
Meanwhile, police are also asking for the public's help in solving a burglary at The Drug Store in Livingston. It happened about 1:30 a.m. April 1.
"Individuals took a rock and threw it through the front door and removed the will-call prescriptions," Welborn said.
Chief Welborn says, at this time, it does not appear that the burglary and the robberies at Dandy Don's are connected.
"The one (suspect) at the drug store looks to be a balding male with a heavier set and the one at Dandy Don's has more of a skinny build," said Welborn.
In all, Welborn says there are three suspects in the burglary at the drug store. All are thought to be black males.
Meanwhile, anyone with information on any of the cases is asked to contact the Livingston Police Department at 205-652-9525
