The preliminary results of an autopsy have confirmed the identity of a body found last week in Neshoba County.
The remains have been verified as those of Mandy Davis, 23, who disappeared Sept. 10.
Assistant district attorney Mark Duncan said Monday he could not comment on the estimated time of death or any information about the condition of the body, because he wasn't sure the details had been shared with the family.
"The autopsy report has not been completed at this time," Duncan said. "We have confirmed it was a homicide."
In the meantime, murder suspect Dewayne Savell had his initial appearance before a judge Saturday, Sept. 20. Bond was denied.
