Bridge Damaged

The one-vehicle accident happened around 10:30 this morning on Highway 503 just south of Hickory.

"He appeared to have veered off the roadway, striking a bridge rail, overturned his vehicle and received several injuries and was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel."
Investigators on the scene say it appears the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
