Cong. Chip Pickering campaigned for State Sen. Videt Carmichael in Lauderdale and Clarke Counties Monday afternoon.
The two greeted patrons at Kewanee one stop and discussed the potential future development of an automotive site in the area. The stop was part of a grassroots campaigning tour of district 33, the district Carmichael represents.
"Not only is he coming to show support for me, but it also lets the people out in the district know that we're concerned," said Carmichael, "and we're working together, our federal government, as well as our state, to try to get things done for what we feel like needs to be done over here."
Later the two visited Quitman. In the election Nov. 4, Carmichael faces independent Gilford Dabbs of Quitman.
