Students and other members of the community checked out the job scene Tuesday at Meridian Community College, as it hosted its Annual Career Expo.
Some local businesses were on hand to share job opportunities available in the area.
Organizer Deborah Nettles said knowing what to expect in the job market is an advantage.
"It's important for the community so that they'll know there are jobs available. And by going through the Career Expo, they're able to contact some of the people, talk to the human resources people who do the hiring," said Deborah Nettles of MCC, "And be able to make some contacts and network, which is most important."
Some students even got tips in submitting their resumes through email. MCC also has job placement assistance on campus at Webb Hall.
