The man who appeared before the Lauderdale County supervisors on Aug. 1, claiming a road crew had entered his property without permission and damaged it, provided a copy of his request for payment of damages to Newscenter 11.
WTOK had requested a copy from county authorities, as a matter of public record, and were refused.
Carey Clay says, in his opinion, it is public record. He is asking for $12,000 to restore the land to its original condition.
