A 79-year-old woman from Tennessee was involved in a one car accident Monday afternoon on Interstate 20/59 near the Toomsuba Exit.
She was transferred to a local hospital after the accident.
"According to the witness that was following her, she went off the right side of the road, never did hit her brakes," said Sgt. Curtis Moss of the Mississippi Highway Patrol. "Went along the road there approximately 150 feet, hit the embankment, flipped several times, and landed upside-down in the ravine there."
Investigators say the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
