Two students have been suspended for the remainder of the school year by the Meridian school board. The pair allegedly made bomb threats.
The students will also have to spend one semester at Marion Park Alternative School next year.
The action was approved based on the recommendation of administrators.
"They support the strong message that we're sending out to all students as far as calling in bomb threats to our schools, interrupting the instructional time, for other students in our schools. And they totally support our efforts to send out this strong signal," said Bennie Hopkins, assistant administrator for student services.
The suspended students will be allowed to return to their regular schools after the suspension period.
