Preliminary autopsy results show smoke inhalation was the cause of death for a man found dead in a burning house in Meridian Sunday.
Meanwhile, the arson task force, made up of firefighters and police investigators, is still investigating whether foul play was involved in igniting the fire.
Around 2:00 a.m. Sunday, Lamar Edwards, 57, was discovered inside the burning house at 411 39th Avenue.
Investigators say Edwards did not live in the house, but the residents were not at home when firefighters arrived.
