The Mississippi Supreme Court said Thursday it would not hear a post-conviction appeal of Tommy Turner, Jr., of Meridian.
Turner was sentenced to serve eight years in prison for DUI manslaughter.
Turner was the driver in the 1999 accident that killed Willie C. Jones, 40, on a Lauderdale County road.
Authorities say Turner was driving on the wrong side of the road when his car struck another vehicle.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The Appeals Court turned down the post-conviction appeal in August 2003.
