A private airplane from New York landed on Highway 80, near the Coatopa Community in Sumter County, Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m.
Sheriff Johnny Hatter said the pilot reported the engine quit and he was forced to make an emergency landing.
Four people were on board. No one was hurt.
The highway was blocked for 12 hours until the plane could be repaired and takeoff
