Four seats on Mississippi’s Supreme Court are up for election this year.

Even though judicial races are non-partisan, critics are already speculating about how campaign spending and special interest groups will play into the campaigning for the high bench.

Many think tort reform will become a contentious issue among candidates.

In 2002, the state legislature approved reforms to the civil justice system, but proponents of tort reform say more much be done to keep judges fair.
