The trial of Kirby Tate, 39, ended this week with a guilty verdict.
The Meridian man, who had operated a shrimping business until his arrest last year, was found guilty of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Tate was sentenced to the maximum penalty, 60 years without parole.
It will run concurrently with a separate 60-year sentence Tate received on similar charges, also in 2003.
