Republican House member Mike Lott of Petal Friday formally announced his decision to run for Congress in the 4th Congressional District.
Lott kicked off his campaign at the Quitman Depot, emphasizing the creation of new jobs in the district.
"That's one of my platform issues, is working with the governor of our state, who has had his job summit," said Lott. "Working closely with him and working as a congressman to see what we can do to create jobs for the people in our district."
Lott said the Quitman visit is his first in the northern part of Congressional District 4.
