The Mississippi Senate has passed a bill that would allow officers to pull over drivers who aren't wearing seat belts. The bill now moves to the House.

Current Mississippi law says people can be fined for not buckling up, but officers need another primary reason to pull people over.

The current fine for not wearing a seat belt is $25.

Mississippi law already requires children to be restrained in age-appropriate safety seats.
