The Professional Photographers of Mississippi and Alabama, or PPMA, has its spring seminar underway in Meridian.

It features motivational speakers as well as a number of activities to help participants grow as photographers.

"We have speakers from as far away as Tulsa, Okla.," said PPMA member Wayne Rawson of Meridian. "Right now we have a print competition going on which is a good opportunity for a photographer to learn better techniques and learn what they are doing right and what they are doing wrong."

The PPMA will hold its annual convention this summer on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
