Sociology professor Frank Glamser and English professor Gary Stringer had until Monday to ask for a hearing on their suspensions before the University Advisory Council. The council will recommend an action to Thames.
The professors may appeal Thames' decision to the state College Board.
Thames suspended Glamser and Stringer with pay last week. He wants to fire them. The president said he will not allow them to finish teaching this semester.
Because of privacy statutes, Thames says he cannot disclose the specific reasons he has sought to fire Glamser and Stringer, maintaining the complete facts of the case are not known.
