Delta Nu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated paid tribute to outstanding minority youth in a program Sunday afternoon at MSU Meridian.
The event is held annually and organizers say the program serves as motivation of the students to continue to excel and encourage them to further their education.
"IN observance of our national finer woman hood observance week we chose to salute outstanding minority your from surrounding counties and felt that we would honor them for their academic achievement community service and extra curricular activities, we have 14 schools represented we have 93 students that will be honored today," explained Sherry Moss with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
This year's theme was "Overcoming Obstacles Through Education, Determination and Perseverance." Dr. Linda Wilson-Jones, Associate Professor at Fayetteville State University was the keynote speaker.
