Mississippi Choctaws once worried that building a $750 million casino resort in a dirt-poor section of Mississippi was a gamble. It's paying off now.
The Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise's net income for the quarter ending in December was nearly $15 million. That's up from nearly $10 million for the same quarter in 2002.
Just last Monday the resort terminated 87 people in the table games division of the casino, sitting low revenues in the table games division.
