Kemper County hosted a reception Thursday for the outgoing executive director of the Kemper Economic Development Agency.
Mike McGrevey will assume his duties as president of the Montgomery Institute next week.
McGrevey shared what he is most proud of during the last four years in Kemper County.
"We took a broad view of what economic development was," McGrevey said. "We worked on economic progress, social progress, cultural progress. Some of the things in there, especially on the education front, motivational programs like MSTEP, Mississippi Students Together Exploring Possibilities, our leadership program."
The Mississippi Senate passed a resolution commending McGrevey.
The Kemper Economic Development Agency is currently advertising for a new executive director.
