A shooting death is under investigation in Newton County. It happened at a mobile home on Allgood Road, between Decatur and Conehatta.

Investigators say they've not charged anyone in the case yet, but they do have some persons of interest.

The Newton County Sheriff's Department received a phone call Monday that Bobby Gregory's body had been found.

Newton County Sheriff Jackie Knight and deputies responded to the call and found Gregory with no wounds apparent wounds, but an autopsy proved otherwise.

"We didn't see the gunshot wounds when we found Mr. Gregory," said Knight. "We had an autopsy performed on Mr.Gregory and it did show that he had been shot twice in the head with a small caliber weapon." "

No arrest had been made in this case as of early Friday evening, and the death is still under investigation.

Knight says he expects an arrest to be made soon. If you have any information about the shooting, you may call the Newton County Sheriff's Office at 601-635-2101.
