Alex Smith, a co-owner for the project, asked Lauderdale County supervisors for help Monday in building a street into the new development.
"Some of it fronts on North Hills Street, wraps around the old Meridian Drive In, borders with the wrecking yard and comes out to Highway 19," said Smith. "We've cleared it and filled it and at this point, we're continuing with the development."
Initially, about 13 acres will be developed. Smith said the cost of building a wrap around street from North Hills to Highway 19 would be recaptured by new tax revenues.
