Someone sent me this story to my Facebook email account. I am very thankful. I am mixed with Choctaw Indian, so I have a connection and feel very good that one of my own was a great man & leader in the Choctaw Nation, and was a huge influence on the culture. I would love to visit the reservation one day. Rest in Peace, Chief!!

Chief Martin was truly one of the most remarkable men I have ever met. It was a sad day when he lost the position of Chief; his people will someday live the loss of that man; Miko Denson cannot keep things together, as he has already begun to show the downhill sliding of the "palace" Chief Martin left him. The Phillip M Restaurant needs to be renamed after Chief Martin in honor of all the man did for his people; it was a true lack of respect to change it to Miko's to begin with; I will NEVER eat in there again as long as it is named Miko's...

Chief was the only true Chief. He brought pride and dignity to his people. He should always be remembered for what he did for Philadelphia also. The so called Miko is a joke. Rest in peace Phillip knowing you did your very best.

I briefly met Chief Martin many years ago at a Self-Determination Conference and was very impressed with his belief and confidence. He laid an excellent pathway for those following him. My condolences to the family and tribal members. He has won his race and is now resting. God Bless.

Chief Martin had a vision. That vision was "Self-Determination". Imagine that, getting educated and taking responsibility for your life and your people. He only wanted the best for the people he loved. We will not see another like Phillip Martin for a long time. Rest in peace Chief, your work is done here and you did it well.
