State Rep. Gale Gregory of Louisville was sworn in Wednesday at the start of the Mississippi Legislature's special session.
Gregory won a special election this month to succeed Bobby Moody, who left the House to become deputy director of Medicaid.
Gregory was a public school educator for 34 years and is a farmer. He did not have to declare a party affiliation for the special election, but Wednesday said he's a Republican.
Gregory's district includes all of Winston County and parts of Kemper and Noxubee Counties.
