The Mississippi Highway Patrol said Daniel Richard Luthy, 23, was driving the 1987 Honda that ran off the road around 2:00 a.m.
"The driver's speed, probably fatigue was involved, the small vehicle," said Sgt. Ronnie Carter of the Mississippi Highway Patrol. "It was that type of crash and probably in this situation, the most important factor was the fatigue at this time of day."
Statewide, the Highway Patrol wrote over 7,000 during the long July 4 holiday.
