Mrs. Bush met with Gov. Bob Riley and teachers at Hueytown Elementary School to discuss the state's successful Reading Initiative Program.
"Children can learn. Every child can learn and we all know that," said Mrs. Bush. "And we all believe that or we wouldn't' be in education, but we really can make a huge difference in the lives of children."
After the stop at the school, the first lady and daughter, Jenna, headed to a Republican fundraising luncheon.
