In addition to a 15 year prison sentence, Jeremy Meador, 25, of Meridian was fined $5,000 for a collision that caused the death of a Starkville woman.
Authorities say Meador was arrested after an Aug. 23, 2003 crash in which his pickup collided with a car driven by Lakeisha Brown, 19. Brown and Meador both were hospitalized.
Brown was later transferred to a Memphis hospital and ultimately died from her injuries in March 2004.
According to court documents, Meador was legally intoxicated at the time of the accident, with his blood alcohol content registering .3 percent. That's almost four times the legal limit of .08 percent.
