An opportunity to obtain $10 million in federal tax credits at no cost to the city was unveiled Wednesday. The money will be for restoration of downtown Meridian.
Developer Bob Malone is one of the local businessmen involved in the plan.
"We've been given the greatest opportunity by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. They're willing to give us a funding grant immediately up to $10 million worth of projects," said real estate developer Bob Malone. "And they're also willing to work with us on our application for any projects we might want to submit in the future."
There will be a special called meeting of the Meridian City Council next week. The plan will be presented for its approval.
