Vimville Woman Killed in Wreck

A Vimville woman is dead after a wreck on Shiloh-Vimville Road around 4:50 a.m. Monday morning.

Major Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department identified the victim as 70 year old Bertha Louise Boyd.

Boyd's vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

"We believe speed was a factor in this collision," said Calhoun. "There may be other factors and the accident is still under investigation. We'll have further information in a few weeks when we have test results back from the Crime Lab."

No other vehicle was involved in the wreck.
