Authorities in Newton County have charged two people in the Aug. 17 death of Kenneth Savell, 71, of Decatur, Miss.
Newton County Sheriff Jackie Knight said the victim's grandson, Steven Savell, is charged with capital murder.
Raymond Murrell of Union, also known as Raymond Jackson, was charged as an accessory.
Knight said a truck taken from the victim was recovered Monday.
"The crime lab is coming over and they're going to process the pickup truck for blood, other items that may be in the truck from the crime scene," the sheriff said.
At the time of the incident, officials said keys, a shotgun and money were missing from Savell's home.
Knight said both suspects remained in custody Monday at the Newton County Jail.
