A fire that swept through a University of Mississippi fraternity house, killing three students. The fire may have been electrical; it began in the basement.
Investigators are awaiting test results from evidence collected at the scene.
Jeff Alford, assistant vice chancellor for university relations, said the cause of the fire was "multiple points of origin”, corresponding with electrical outlets in a basement bedroom.
It will be two weeks before the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms gets lab results from samples taken from the ATO house.
A preliminary investigation shows William Townsend and Howard Stone, both 19, and Jordan Williams, 20, died of smoke inhalation.
Twenty-three people were in the house when the fire broke out about 4:30 a.m. Aug 27.
