A Clarke County woman who was injured in a Saturday boating accident has been upgraded from critical to stable condition at a Jackson hospital.
Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp says Martha Brady was seriously injured on Archusa Lake around 9:30 Saturday morning when the boat she was traveling in struck something in the water, causing the engine to make its way into the boat while the propeller was still turning.
Kemp says while Brady's arm was nearly severed a result, doctors at UMC were thankfully able to save it. Sheriff Kemp tells Newscenter 11 that Brady will have to undergo several reconstructive surgeries in the future.
